La rappresentazione teatrale implica per sua natura la presenza dello spettatore. Questa presenza è passiva o partecipa ad un rito di creazione collettiva? Attraverso l'analisi del legame tra movimento, spazio e percezione, la ricerca, sia in campo scientifico che artistico, s'interroga sul valore cognitivo della mimesi e su come l'alterazione dell'ambiente circostante possa variare tale percezione. Quanto la recente scoperta del sistema mirror può chiarire i principi d'immediata condivisione su cui si fonda il teatro?
